β¦ Synopsis
The compound RuC12(Ph2PCH&iMe& was obtained from the reaction of ruthenium trichloride with diphenyl(trimethylsilylmethyl)phosphine. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group pZ,/c (No. 14) with the following cell dimensions: a = l&289(2), b = 10.517(2), c = 26.410(7) A, fl= 93.56(3) , Y= 5070(4) A3 and Z = 4. The molecular structure was determined by a single crystal X-ray study. The complex has a square pyramidal geometry with two trans phosphines and two tram chloride atoms in the base of the pyramid and a phosphine at the apex.
