✦ Synopsis
An e f f i c i e n t and r e l i a b l e method of p r e p a r i n g 77Br-p-bromo s p i r o p e r i d o l s u i t a b l e f o r l a b e l l i n g dopamine r e c e p t o r s i n v i v o h s been developed. T h i s s y n t h e s i s i n v o l v e s t h e r e a c t i o n of 7'Br-, H202, and s p i r o p e r i d o l i n g l a c i a l a c e t i c a c i d . The p u r i t y of t h e product w a s a s s u r e d by t h e u s e of two column r e v e r s e phase h i g h performance l i q u i d chromatography.
Radiochemical y i e l d s were i n t h e range of 80-90%, while s p e c i f i c a c t i v i t i e s of 80-140 Ci/mmole were o b t a i n e d a t t h e end of t h e s y n t h e s i s .
