✦ Synopsis
Preparation and Novel Coordination Structure of [Cu(sacch)2(H20)2] -4 Ha0 The new cornplex of copper (11) and saccharin -[Cu(sacch)z(HzO)z] . 4 HzO (1) has becri prepared and determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction method. It differs from [Cu(sacch)2(H20)4] . 2 H20 (2) which was reported by HAIDER et al. (1981). The compound (1) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/a with lattice parameters a = 7.326(3) A, b = 16.308(5) b, c = 8.379(1) A, p = 101.09(2)", 2 = 2. Copper(I1) exists in a square planar structure with a CZ axis and rentrosymmetry belonging to the C21, group.
