✦ Synopsis
Polycrystalline Pb2Sr2Yl_xCaxCu3Os+ 8 (PSYCCO) samples have been prepared without precursor (x=0.3-0.6). The samples exhibit a metallic normal-state conductivity, and the highest To(R=0 ) achieved is 70K. Regarding anisotropy, SQUID-magnetometry demonstrates the intermediate position of PSYCCO between YBCO and Bi-2223. The critical current density (Jc=10SAcm -2 at 50K for H=lkOe) shows for 0.2 <T/T c <0.7 a flatter temperature dependence compared to polycrystalline Bi-2223. In fields of H=10kOe, the irreversibility line (Tirr/T c =0.6) is shifted to higher temperatures compared to Bi-2212
