The electronic states of TiO 2 ultrafine particles (UFP) are characterized by photoluminescence spectra and diffuse reflection spectra. The results obtained indicate that the surface structure, i.e., TiOH groups, TiOC 2 H 5 groups, and the defect state, plays an important role in the electronic stat
