Two anionic soluble monomers, mono(2-methacryloyl oxyethyl)acid phosphate and vinylsulfonic acid sodium salt, were grafted onto chitosan to obtain copolymers with zwitterionic property. Graft reaction improved the antimicrobial activities of chitosan. Antimicrobial activities of chitosan and graft c
