Prenatal ultrasonography is the primary imaging modality in pregnancy as it allows direct real-time fetal examination. Antenatal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has so far been of limited clinical value owing to poor image quality. This was due to the long acquisition times that were needed to achi

β¦ Synopsis
Color Doppler imaging is a noninvasive modality that can depict the anatomy and direction of blood flow within the fetal and neonatal intracranial circulation.' This capability makes this a most appealing method for the in-utero diagnosis of fetal arteriovenous malformations (AVM). Cerebral arteriovenous malformations with aneurysm of the vein of Galen are rare congenital anatomical anomalies usually associated with severe hemodynamic and CNS disturbances.2 We report the prenatal diagnosis of AVM of the vein of Galen with the combined use of color Doppler and real-time ultrasound imaging.
CASE REPORT
A 38-year-old patient, gravida 3, para 2, was referred at 38 weeks, menstrual age, for ultrasound examination and estimation of fetal weight. The pregnancy course was uneventful. A preliminary ultrasound examination, performed in the 22nd week, did not reveal any anatomical malformations.

Using image-directed and color Doppler ultrasonography (ICDUS), we examined 65 patients with single kidney biopsy and diagnosed one arteriovenous fistula (AVF) in each of 8 kidneys. Three of them were associated with pseudoaneurysms. Three of the patients with AVF who presented with macrohematuria u
Objective: To determine whether a systematic stream-lined approach could be routinely used in the evaluation of fetal intracranial anatomy. Methods: Nine thousand six hundred uncomplicated pregnancies were evaluated using a three-level view of fetal brain imaging. An axial scan, which passed through
