Neonatal renal tumors are rare but the most common, mesoblastic nephroma, is nonmetastatic, well differentiated, amenable to surgical removal, and carries a good Polyhydramnios has been noted in a number of these ~ases,4,~ and with sufficient frequency for this tumor to merit consideration when excessive amniotic fluid volumes are encountered. We describe the prenatal appearance of such a tumor associated with large fetal abdominal measurements and polyhydramnios.

We report the first prenatal diagnosis of a case of congenital mesoblastic nephroma complicated by hydrops fetalis. Congenital mesoblastic nephroma is generally thought to be a benign disease but when complicated by hydrops fetalis it may be a potentially lethal condition.
