Two new megastigmane glycosides, eleganosides A and B (1 and 3, resp.), and one new iridoid glycoside, gouwenoside A (4), together with two known compounds, foliasalacioside B 1 (2) and loganin (5), were isolated from the aerial parts of Gelsemium elegans (Gardn. et Champ.) Benth. (Loganiaceae). The
## Abstract Two new iridoid glycosides, named scyphiphorins A (**1**) and B (**2**), together with four known compounds, geniposidic acid (=(1__S__,4a__S__,7a__S__)β1β(__Ξ²__βDβglucopyranosyloxy)β1,4a,5,7aβtetrahydroβ7β(hydroxymethyl)cyclopenta[__c__]pyranβ4βcarboxylic acid; **3**), 4β(4βhydroxyβ3βm
Loganin (l), loganic acid (2), and periclymenoside (3) have been isolated from Loniceru periclymenum L. The structure of the new compound 3 and the identity of the others have been determined by chemical transformations and interpretation of the spectral data.
