โฆ Synopsis
Thirty-four patients with 57 cutaneous lesions have been treated with the Nd:YAG laser under an experimental protocol over a year of study. The majority of treatments were done on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. Capillary/ cavernous hemangiomas of the oral cavity responded well, but hemangiomas of infancy responded poorly. Hypertrophic scars and keloids responded well only in conjunction with steroid treatment. Epistaxis in patients with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia responded well for 4-5 months and then recurred. Areas with thin skin or mucosa have the potential for full-thickness injury with complications of scar, bony exposure, or septa1 perforation.

## Abstract A biologic adhesive bonding agent for bone and skin was first developed in 1966. Later experiments with cyanacrylate proved ineffective. A new 3M bonding agent, MBR 4197, was tried but proved ineffective owing to the nature of the cut surface. Use of the Sharplan CO~2~ laser eliminated
A synthetic contact sapphire endoprobe attached to the quartz fiber of a neodymiumyttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laser had been used in the transurethral treatment of bladder tumors. A total of 68 operations have been carried out in 48 patients. The contact probe was placed directly into the tumor
## Background and objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the geometrical development of a coagulated zone in the canine prostate during free beam side fire nd:yag laser coagulation. ## Study design/materials and methods: A series of 10 male dogs underwent endoscopic prostatic nd:ya
In neurosurgical practice the laser can be considered an additional instrument to improve conventional techniques, or even a new method of treatment of some cerebral lesions. A complete laser surgery requires the association of three laser sources in combination. The CO, laser is useful for cutting
