Abstract

In surgery about the face, it is frequently necessary to remove part of the bones. The CO~2~ laser is efficient in cutting out desired areas with the ability to leave unfractured bone behind. Because of the intense heat, one must realize the extent of bone injury and know about delayed healing. Suggestions for minimizing the injury are included.
