โœฆ Synopsis

It hi ~ been demonstrated that a conductive flame, with a suitable arrangement of electrodes and coupling circuitry, can ransform an electrical signal into a high level acoustic output, in both the audible and ultrasonic range. The inp,~ signal will also be detected optically by a photocell focused on the flame. The present paper derives an ana!ytical model based on an appropriate form of the wave equation, which correlates certain of the observed experimental results with the physical and thermodynamic characteristics of the flame plasma,, and of the electrical parameters involved.
