✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Modification of flaps prior to local or distant transfer has gained wide acceptance. The term prefabricated has been used to describe all possible modifications. In this article we introduce the term prelamination to refer to the implantation of tissue or other devices into a flap prior to transfer and suggest that prefabrication be restricted to the implantation of vascular pedicles. A case is presented illustrating these concepts. © 1994 Wiley‐Liss, Inc.
