## Abstract ## Background Postoperative pain is one of the main reasons for a prolonged hospital stay after laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC). Reduced postoperative pain might result in faster recovery and establish LC as a day-care surgical procedure. Peroperative local anaesthesia has been sugge
