โฆ Synopsis
This is a welcome volume for archaeologists involved in the study of ancient lithic technologies. Much of the book deals with studies of quarry sources, a topic much neglected in the archaeological literature. Geoarchaeologists are likely to be interested in the examination, in several chapters, of the geologic sources and the manner in which they were exploited. The remainder of the book deals with various aspects of stone tool manufacture. The volume is dedicated to the late Don Crabtree. Interestingly, another book dedicated to Don has just been published by the University of New Mexico Press (Stone Tool Analysis: Essays in Honor ofDon E . Crabtree, Plew,
