✦ Synopsis
Equivalent conducfances of Bu4NN03, AgNO. and Kl in methanol (MeOH) and those of Bu4NBPh4, Bu+NNOs, ByNI, AgNOs and KI in several N,N-dimethylformamide+methanol (DMF + MeOH) mixtures over the entire solvent composition range have been measured at 25°C. The conductance data in ail the case-s have been analyscd by the Shedlovsky method. Evaluation of limiting ion conductances (AD) and hence the solvated radii (ri) of ions in DMF + MeOH mixtures shows a homoselective preferential salvation of Bu,NBPb. Bu.+NNO, and Bu4NI with the cation Bu,N+ and the anions Ph4B-, NO; and Iall being selectively solvated by MeOH. AgNOJ and KI, on the other hand, are heteroselectively preferentially solvated with Ag+ and Kf being preferentially solvated by DMF and NO; and Ipreferentially solvated by MeOH.
