✦ Synopsis

Special Issue on Computability and Complexity 2003 Dedicated to Klaus Weihrauch on the occasion of his 60th birthday This special issue of Mathematical Logic Quarterly (MLQ) contains a selection of articles presented at the International Conference on Computability and Complexity in Analysis (CCA), held in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, August [28][29][30] 2003. This conference was concerned with the theory of computability and complexity over real-valued data. Altogether, eight invited talks and sixteen contributed talks have been delivered at the conference. Due to the space limitation, only sixteen of these papers are included in this special issue.

Various types of continuity for preference relations on a metric space are examined constructively. In particular, necessary and sufficient conditions are given for an order-dense, strongly extensional preference relation on a complete metric space to be continuous. It is also shown, in the spirit o

In this work we introduce a class of commutative rings whose defining condition is that its lattice of ideals, augmented with the ideal product, the semi-ring of ideals, is isomorphic to an MV-algebra. This class of rings coincides with the class of commutative rings which are direct sums of local A
