โฆ Synopsis
The co-chairman of both events was Peter Thomas (Marburg) who continuously plays a decisive role in the history of TIDS events, and of the IRTG activities.
The workshop and the conference were attended altogether by more than 90 scientists and students. Some of the invited speakers of the conference gave comprehensive tutorial talks during the workshop in the topics of "Interaction and localization", "Transport and disorder in graphene", and "Disorder and Bose-Einstein condensation". These issues were supplemented by many other problems of disorder, transport and interaction, including semiconductor structures, organic systems and even such interdisciplinary problem as the transport over a cellular network. Many discussions tried to clarify current issues, new results and long lasting problems of disorder or interaction driven metal-insulator transitions, the glass transition, hopping conduction in insulators, and unusual properties of graphene. There has been a great emphasis on different forms of glasses: Bose-glass, Coulomb-glass, and electron-glass. Additionally the interplay of disorder and superconductivity, nonlinearity, and light was also analyzed. The papers presented in these proceedings show some examples of the results presented during 15 invited, 14 contributed and 21 poster lectures.
The conference itself counted 52 registered participants from 17 countries. This event follows previous meetings held in Marburg (2007),
