β¦ Synopsis
The Soav+RedIich-Kwong and the Peng-Robinson equations of state have been applied to the calculation of hydrogen solubility in hydrocarbon solvents. The interaction parameter can be obtained from experimental data: vapour liquid equilibria or Henry's constants. It has been shown that the so obtained value can be correlated as a simple function of temperature only, regardless of the solvent nature, and a predictive procedure has been developed which results in a rather good calculation of hydrogensolvents vapour Liquid equilibria.

Three generalized cubic equations of state are applied to the calculation of vapor-liquid equilibrium of H,-n-alkane mixtures. Binary interaction parameters are calculated from experimental PTxy data and generalized correlations are proposed. Comparison of the calculated kij values with predictions
The relation between asphaltene yield and solvent properties is discussed, with some emphasis on structural eqtities within the asphaltene fraction.
Sorption and dilation isotherms are reported for a series of gases (N 2 , O 2 , CO 2 ), hydrocarbon vapors (CH 4 , C 2 H 6 , C 3 H 8 ), and their fluorocarbon analogs (CF 4 , C 2 F 6 , C 3 F 8 ) in poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) at 35Β°C and pressures up to 27 atmospheres. The hydrocarbons are signifi
A new way to define the two parameters a, b of the Redlich-Kwong equation of state without using the critical constants is introduced. First, the "shifed"covo1ume (bc) of the Peneloux modification of the equation of state is estimated by group contributions (for a wide range of compounds); from it a
