✦ Synopsis

The effects of operating temperature, eluent flow-rate expressed as linear velocity and background sugar concentration on the distribution coefficients of glucose and fructose have been evaluated. General experimental relationships, applicable to cation-exchange batch and semi-continuous chromatographic systems have been developed which relate the above effects to the infinite dilution distribution coefficients obtained during the column characterisation of a particular chromatographic system.
