A model predicting phosphorus and nitrogen concentrations from loading rates was tested using data collected from a shallow, nutrient-rich lake where both internal and external loading occurred . Predicted nutrient concentrations agreed closely with observed values and it is suggested that the model could be used to predict the reduction in loading rate required to effect lake restoration .
