✦ Synopsis
It appears by studying the sensitivity and invertibihty plots that the optimal economic performance is obtained in a highconversion and high-temperature region, but it may not be feasible to operate the reactor under the optimum conditions because the system is much more difficult to control under those conditions. Dynamic measures and operability analysis reveal that singular-value plots remain constant at low frequencies and decrease linearly at high frequencies. Furthermore, the sensitivity of the system deteriorates in a highfrequency range which shows that the system would increase the control efforts. Finally, a system design for one steadystate may not be the best at another steady-state for a dynamic point of view because of its nonlinear behaviour.
