β¦ Synopsis
c nfo The purpose of this series is to present timely information on practical aspects of chromatography. To the observer this information may appear to be primarily of academic interest. The opposite is true! The series attempts to communicate fresh ideas and new approaches to the chromatographer with the aim of optimizing chromatographic performance. Essentially it is oriented towards practical aspects and keeps theory at a minimum. It attempts to provide an answer to many of the problems the chromatographer faces in the laboratory. Although scientifically accurate derivations and relationships are used wherever possible, approximations will be made occasionally in situations where the results justify the means. Small microprocessors or pocket calculators will be employed where meaningful, and computer programmes will be supplied with appropriate instructions. Since the CHROMCARD INFOR-MATION seriesisintendedforlaboratoryuse, practicalexamples and exercises will always form part of these presentations. It is thus recommended to start a collection of CHROMCARD INFOR-MATION topicsand keepthemin thelaboratory.Even if thereader chooses to implement only a few of these optimization procedures, leadlng to a reduction of analysis time or improvement of accuracy, it is well worth theeffort.
