Microsymposium scope---The application of synthetic polymers in medicine gives rise to various chemical problems, many of them being of fundamental character also for macromolecular science. The Microsymposium will review general aspects of chemical problems related to medical polYmers in their soluble and crosslinked forms with prospective uses as tracers, drug carriers, sorbents, prosthetic materials, tissue adhesives etc., also reactions such as polymer synthesis, modification and degradation, drug and active group binding, surface reactions, thrombogenicity etc. will be discussed.
