✦ Synopsis

This brief but thorough book is an excellent review of the Physics of Ultrasound. It uses a stimulating format with plenty of illustrations. This is not a text on how to do ultrasound, but rather specifically, physics of ultrasound. The back of the book has a number of exercises, crossword puzzles, and tests, allowing the student to test his knowledge. This book is not intended for the practicing imager, although the chapter on Artifacts is a useful review. It is an extremely useful book for residents who are studying for the written part of the Diagnostic Imaging Boards. A spectacular group of Ultrasonographers has assisted with the preparation of this text.
