β¦ Synopsis
The second edition of Practical Occupational Medicine bridges the gap between day-to-day clinical practice, concerned primarily with diagnosis and treatment of disease, and occupational health practice which is concerned with the prevention of work-related disease and the management of ill health in relation to the workplace. All aspects of the clinicians' role are covered, from occupational history-taking through to rehabilitation and health promotion. Important changes in this new edition include an emphasis on key principles of good practice, enhanced international applicability and enhanced, more structured, presentation of information. In addition to general revision and updates throughout the text, the case histories have been revisited throughout, the section on disability and fitness for work has been thoroughly reworked and a new chapter on the delivery of occupational health care is included.
