โฆ Synopsis
Is there a zero stars? This book is less useful than just taking the portal for a test drive. The install instructions say download the bundle. That is ridiculous. Get the freely available Admin guide from the portal site.
I think a book should have at least 1 line of java code in it to have a sub-title 'Java-based Portal Applications Development'. There is no development and this is definitely not a book that a 'pro' could use for anything other than holding down printouts of useful documentation from another source.
I do not even recommend this book to the newest of newbies. If you found your way to this review you already know half of the stuff in the book, like how to use self descriptive user interfaces.
I bought this book online and it took me less than a day of searching for anything java or development related to realize that this book has nothing even remotely resembling its title between the covers. Deceptive section titles make you think there is going to be some instruction on how to develop something to run in Liferay. This is a marketing scheme not a book.
