## Abstract Procedures are given for the preparation of new linear bidentate, tetradentate and tripodal heptadentate ligands incorporating benzimidazole, benzothiazole and pyridyl groups. The compounds were characterized by their nmr, uv and mass spectra. The crystal and molecular structure is repo
