β¦ Synopsis
Potassium-containing hypermetalated compounds, K&H and b(OH),, and their water complexes, K,(OH) (H,O) and K,(OH) (H*O), were generated in a flow reactor and studied by photoionization mass spectrometry. The photoionization threshold energiesof K,OH, Kj(OH)(H,O), K4(OH)>, and K,(OH) (H,O), were measured to be 3.78, 3.97, 3.54, and 3.69 (+0.08) eV, respectiveI). The enthalpies of the water-complex formation were determmed to be -16.7 + 3.3 and -14.0 52.8 kcal/mol for KI(OH)(H,O) and K,(OH)(H,O), respectively.
