β¦ Synopsis
Food ingestion induces chylomicronaemia and/or elevated VLDL concentrations depending on the kind and amount of food consumed. To simulate the metabolic fate of chylomicrons, fat emulsions have been used. Their elimination velocity is influenced by the kinetic pattern of the metabolism of the endogenous triglycerides : both a low removal capacity and a triglyceride overproduction cause a delayed clearance of the fat emulsion. Moreover, an impairment of the influx of the free fatty acids into the cells which is present in hypertriglyceridaemic patients may be able to worsen that clearance. Postprandial lipaemia is also modified by diurnal variations of the lipids and lipoproteins which have been observed in fasting persons. In brief. the effects of diets rich in carbohydrates or fats are discussed.

## Abstract Serum copper and zinc concentrations were measured in 560 apparently healthy Kuwaitis (238 males and 322 females) aged 15β80 years to assess micromineral effect on the indices of lipid metabolism. Following the recommended guidelines of the European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) and the
## Purpose: We assessed the resistance index (ri) in the superior mesenteric artery under fasting and postprandial conditions in healthy subjects and in patients with cirrhosis to determine whether the amount of change in the ri reflects the presence or severity of liver dysfunction. ## Methods:
Pigs with mutated calcium release channels are stress-susceptible and are known for increased postmortem metabolism which results in inferior meat quality. The lipid composition, lipid peroxidation, and oxidation of proteins of skeletal muscle homogenates from the longissimus muscle of pigs were inv
