## Abstract The effect of mild NaOH treatments on sugarcane cellulosic wastes (bagasse, pith, and straw) to increase their biological degradability has been studied. At a level of 8% NaOH (on a dry matter basic) 60% digestibility measured by the __in vitro__ technique was achieved for all materials
