โฆ Synopsis
We discuss the possibility that normal cosmic strings or vortons generate the matter-antimatter asymmetry of the universe and are the source of ultra high-energy cosmic rays. Both kinds of strings may explain those phenomena depending on details of their dynamics and the underlying grand unification theory.
