✦ Synopsis

We investigate a rotating superfluid 4He which flows through atroidal channel. When the rotating superfluid helium is heated, we may expect to find new phenomena from our theory where there are two possibilities: (1) The rotating superfluid component suddenly disappears at atemperature. Then, the temperature suddenly rises to the 2, -transition temperature. A temperature gap appears. (2) The velocity of the superfluid component decreases gradually, and the temperature rises continuously.

The overpressurization of superfluid He 4 under crystallization is studied experimentally. The effect of a substrate and He 3 impurities on the nucleation rate W is observed. In the presence of a homogeneous heat current the isotropy of supetfluid 4He is broken and the propagation of second-sound waves becomes anisotropic. We calculate the angular dependence of the velocity and damping of second sound near T~ within model F of Halperin, Hohenberg and Siggia to leading or
