Positron Metune measurements have been carried out on high-purity n-hexadecanol-1 as a function of temperature. The marked changes of the long-lived component below the freezing pomt in the cooling process are related to the existence of the rotational phase. Ps formation probabilities do not differ in a solid low-temperature form and in th.-_ liquid phase. In terms of the spur reaction model, the n-hexadeanolshows behaviour intermediate between polar compounds and hydrocarbons
