Akstract--Changes in polyethylene (PE) when filled with Ultrasil have been studied by the method of positron annihilation. The results show that the temperature dependence z3 is almost the same for all samples. Changes, however, occur in the intensities/3 and 12./3 has the highest values in pure PE and gradually decreases with increasing Ultrasil concentration; 12 shows the opposite trend. The effects result from local densifications, which increase with increasing concentration of Ultrasil (increase of/2) and decreasing number of sites in which positronium can be stabilized.
