The energy functional of a field theory with anti-de Sitter background geometry can be positive for scalar potentials which are unbounded below and for vacua corresponding to critical points which are maxima or saddle points.

## Abstract We show that de Sitter vacua exist in simple extended supergravity theories. In the particular 𝒩 = 2 case we are considering here, we find a de Sitter solution of the supergravity theory with gravity and gravitini turned on by taking into account ψ^4^ torsion terms.
