โœฆ Synopsis

Simple helium dewars have been constructed using gas-cooled radiation shie/ds and multilayer aluminized plastic insulation. They will retain one litre of liquid for up to 40 hours The shields may be made mostly non-conducting so the dewar can be used with ultrasensitive superconducting magnetometers. For most other applications thin sheet metal such as copper or aluminium is suitable for the shield& Portable helium dewars for use with superconducting magnetometers

In order to obtain a low noise environment for optimum performance of SQUID sensors, it is essential to minimize the magnetic signal of the materials used in the SQUID cold electronics and the structures surrounding these sensors. We have, therefore, screened samples for potential use in the fabrica
