✦ Synopsis
The imide (I) (15g) is suspended in methylene chloride (ca. 50 ml ; partially dissolved ; 5 g/lOO ml), treated with the appropriate inorganic halide [slight excess of (I); if necessary, diluted with CH,CI,), and heated under reflux for 5-10h. The products are obtained analytically pure by fractional distillation in a vacuum.
