Stabilized PVC samples which have been heat treated show a relatively intense fluorescent emission band at ~ 500 nm and a weaker one at ~720 nm when irradiated at 365 nm. The intensity of the 500 nm band increases as thermal degradation continues, reaching a maximum at the point where visible discol
