โœฆ Synopsis

In a population of 1460 head Large White Polish pigs, the authors proved the correlation between the phenotypes and alleles of blood serum amylase (Am) and the level of leptospira antibodies. With increase of the level of leptospira antibodies, the frequency of Am(A) allele also increased, and the frequency of Am(B) allele decreased.Am(B) allele seems to be in certain proportion positively connected with natural resistance of Large White Polish pigs to leptospirosis, contrary to Am(A) allele. The results of the investigations indicate the favourable mating of pigs having Am BB phenotypes, for the trait under consideration.

The authors showed polymorphism of the blood serum post-albumins in a population of Lowland Black-and-White cattle. Having tested 1001 samples of blood serum they found three Poa phenotypes, Poa FF, Poa SS and Poa FS, which were controlled by 2 codominant alleles, Poa(F) and Poa(S). The frequencies
