The monomer N-(p-methacryloyloxy-benzylidene)-p-aminobenzoic acid (MOBAB) has been extensively investigated. Several crystallization methods were developed in order to obtain it in a pure state. MOBAB showed a complicated thermal behaviour depending on the purification procedure, drying and ageing.
