✦ Synopsis

Stereospecific polymerization andasymmetric oligomerization of allylsilanes were investigated by using C2-and C,-symmetric zirconocene catalysts. Isotactic and syndiotactic poly(allylsi1ane)s were produced with rac-ethylenebis(4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1 -indenyl)zirconium dichloride (1) and diphenylmethylene($cyclopentadienyl)(~5-fluorenyl)zirconium dichloride (6), respectively. Bulky allylsilanes afforded optically active oligomers in the reactions using optically active ethylenebis(4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1-indeny1)zirconium and -hafnium complexes.

## Abstract Optical resolution of ethylenebis(4,5,6,7‐tetrahydro‐1‐indenyl) complexes of zirconium and hafnium was performed by using cellulose tris(3,5‐dimethylphenylcarbamate) coated on silica‐gel (Chiralcel OD) as a chiral stationary phase for HPLC. The biphenyl‐2,2′‐diolate complexes were compl
