✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Mixed chloro‐ and trifluoroethoxy substituted cyclotriphosphazenes 1a–d react with boron trichloride at elevated temperature to give mixed substituted polyphosphazenes of low molecular weight. The reaction was investigated by ^31^P NMR. Fractionation of the polymers was achieved by extraction with hexane/benzene. The low molecular weights are explained by a large amount of cyclophosphazenyl cations generated nearly simultaneously.
