โฆ Synopsis
Insoluble polymer-supported nucleophilic reagent was prepared by treatment of the sodium salt of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid with Amberlite IRA-400 (CI-form). This reagent was treated with appropriate halogen compounds in ethanol at room temperature to give the corresponding esters of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid in high yields. The advantages of this method are the mild reaction conditions and the ease of isolation of products.
