โฆ Synopsis
Abstraet~Crosslinked polymer-supported analogues of halogeno-sulphonamides were prepared and developed as a new class of recyclable solid*phase oxidizing and halogenating reagents. Introduction of sulphonamide group in polystyrene resin is conveniently done by chlorosulphonation followed by amidifications. Halogeno-sulphonamides were obtained by treatment of sodium hypohalite with sulphonamide resin. These reagents were found to oxidize primary, secondary alcohols and also halogenate various compounds. The spent polymeric reagent can be regenerated in single step many times without loss of capacity.
