Dielectric absorption and dispersion has been observed in two adducts of p-toluenesulphenyl chloride (TSCI to eis-l.4-polybutadiene (PBD) viz. the 100') o and 50Β°0 adducts respectively (mole ratios of TSC to monomer of 1 : 1 and 1:2). In the 100Β°o adduct, measurements at 1 kHz over the temperature r

Analysis of the CH--S and CH--CI multiplets in the t3C NMR spectra of modified polymers indicates that the addition of benzenesulphenyl chloride to cis-l,4-polybutadiene is not wholly random. The analysis of the methylene resonances was inconclusive because of peak overlap and other uncertainties.
