Poly(ethylene terephthalate-co-5-nitroisophthalate) copolymers, abbreviated as PETNI, were synthesized via a two-step melt copolycondensation of bis(2hydroxyethyl) terephthalate and bis(2-hydroxyethyl) 5-nitroisophthalate mixtures with molar ratios of these two comonomers varying from 95/5 to 50/50.

A novel poly(ethylene terephthalate)-poly(caprolactone) block copolymer (PET-PCL) is synthesized in a reactive twin-screw extrusion process. In the presence of stannous octoate, ring-opening polymerization of ⑀-caprolactone is initiated by the hydroxyl end groups of molten PET to form polycaprolacto
Random copolymers of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) and poly(ethylene 2,6-naphthalate) (PEN) were synthesized by melt condensation. In a series of thin, solvent cast films of varying PEN content, acetone diffusivity and solubility were determined at 35°C and an acetone pressure of 5.4 cm Hg. The
Poly( 1-caprolactone) -poly(ethylene glycol) -poly( 1-caprolactone) triblock copolymers (PECL) covering a wide range of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) lengths were synthesized with alkali metal alkoxide derivatives of poly(ethylene glycol). The effects of various factors, such as amount of the initiato
Block copolymers of polysulfone-poly(alky1ene oxide)-poly(dimethylsi1oxane) have been prepared by the addition of preformed a,w-bis(hydrogensily1) poly(dimethylsi1oxane) oligomers to allyl end-capped poly(alky1ene oxide)-polysulfone. The hydrosilylation reaction, catalyzed by platinum, was employed
