The regular solid spherical harmonics Y'[email protected]) and the irregular solid spherical harmonics y-Z-1 m Yl (8. $I) are shown to satisfy relationships of the general form fn(rl+r2+r3+---) =T F 2---fitrl)fi(r2)fk(r3) *--v which permit a variety of geometric interpretations. Particular applications are translations and polypolar expansions, both of which are particularly useful for the evaluation of poly-centered molecular energy integrals.
