Considering the EU s move not only towards the development of RE but also towards environmental protection, you may think that from a policy point of view the development of RE projects would not cause too many problems. This is not always the case, however, due to the need to weigh policies favouring such schemes in the balance with other considerations for example if the development is perceived to have negative impacts on the environment.
