It is shown that under mild conditions stabilization and pole assignment for linear time invariant discrete-time systems are possible by means of periodic memoryless output feedback control.

โฆ Synopsis
Necessary and sufficient conditions are found for a feedback control system of minimum order to exist such that the outputs of the system are driven to zero for all constant external disturbances and such that the closed loop poles are specified.
Summary--Necessary and sufficient conditions are derived for a minimal order realizable, linear, time invariant differential feedback control system to exist for a linear timeinvariant system with constant unknown disturbances, such that the eigenvalues of the closed-loop system take on preassigned values in the left hand part of the complex plane and such that the outputs of the system tend to zero as t-, oc. Some numerical examples are included to illustrate the result.
